Green-tech smash charity target for Epilepsy Action

Green-tech smash charity target for Epilepsy Action

Green-tech is delighted to announce that they have smashed their target to raise £1000 for chosen recipient Epilepsy Action; a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people suffering from Epilepsy and give these people the respect and fairness they deserve.

Epilepsy Action was founded in 1950 as The British Association and adopted Epilepsy Action as its working name in 2002.

Through a host of initiatives and fun events including curry days, sausage feasts cake sales and sporting events, the Green-tech team hit 121% of their target, successfully raising £1213.01 for the charity.

Green-tech kick started the donations by donating 10p for every catalogue distributed over the 12-month period. Their staff were the main contributors to the grand charity total by holding a number of eating fests which included a Yorkshire day celebration lunch, raffle, and Flat Cap Fling, a cake sale and purple raffle for Epilepsy Awareness Purple Day, a Pancake day feast, several curry days, Sausage feasts, Name the Easter Bunny competition, spooky Halloween lunch and a fully stuffed Christmas lunch.

Managing Director Rachel Kay, said,

“I am delighted that yet again we have smashed out charity target. The Green-tech team are a generous bunch and as a company we love our food! Most of our events are food related and we find this is the key to successful fund raising. Our chosen charity for 2018/19 is FND Action which supports those diagnosed with a Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), including Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD). The charity was founded by a group of people who had been diagnosed themselves, and who wanted to come together to provide help and support to others. I hope our contributions will make a big difference to them.”
