Planting and Aftercare Instructions

Planting:

Choose a well-drained location in full sun or light shade

Dig a trench twice the width and depth of the root balls

Remove plants carefully from the trough and space evenly in the trench

Backfill with a mix of native topsoil and compost, firm gently, and water thoroughly

Aftercare:

Water thoroughly during dry periods, especially in the first two years

Apply mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds

Trim annually after the nesting season (late summer to early autumn)

Avoid overfeeding; native species thrive naturally in UK soils

Important Notes & Customer Responsibility

Winter: Deciduous plants will lose leaves naturally; this is not a sign of poor health

Spring and Summer: New leaves emerge, filling out the hedge with dense, vibrant foliage

Proper watering and aftercare are critical for successful establishment and long-term growth

Regular pruning, light fertiliser in spring/mid-summer, and seasonal watering help maintain shape and density
