1.Describe what your job role at Green-tech is and year you started here
From the beginning in 1994, my position has changed and evolved as the business and its needs have. My role can still involve serving a customer one day, to proposing a new product range the next, or reviewing budgets, profits or train/staff resource needs, providing strategic direction or simply reassuring and nurturing talent. It really is very wide ranging – certainly no 2 days are the same, which is good.
2.Background about you
I have a herd of 11 Belted Galloway cows, with a couple more calves due this season, walking with Kevin the dog, I enjoy creativie pursuits and am currently setting up a local arts club and of course spending time with our children and family.
4.One Thing you think would make the industry better?
Making school, college and university students much more aware of what opportunities our industry has to offer them. With the rise of apprenticeships, HL apprenticeships and graduate apprenticeships I think we have a real opportunity to get some raw talent into the industry. It would also support this if quality, valuable landscaping and amenity areas were given more recognition of the benefits they can bring to an area and its inhabitants and investment in these areas.
5.If you were a tree what type of tree would you be?
A Red Maple, beautiful autumnal colours – my favourite season
