Polo Selective Weed Killer 10L previously known as Headland Polo is a professional-use selective herbicide formulated for the effective control of a wide range of common and invasive broad-leaved weeds in grassland, paddocks, and certain cereal crops. Containing two powerful hormonal active ingredients—2,4-D and MCPA—Polo works by disrupting plant growth processes, causing weeds to twist, distort, and die within days of application.

This fast-acting formulation is particularly effective against tough and problematic weeds such as ragwort, thistles, docks, buttercup, and plantain, making it a trusted solution for farmers, land managers, and contractors managing pasture and paddock environments.

Polo is designed for application via boom or ATV sprayers, making it ideal for large-scale use. It delivers excellent value with a 10L pack capable of treating up to 3 hectares (approximately 7 acres), depending on application rate and target area.

Period of Use

Apply from spring through autumn (April to October) when weeds are actively growing.

Avoid application during drought, frost, or when grass is under stress.

Additional Guidance

Best results achieved when annual weeds are young and perennials are at flower bud stage

Apply to dry foliage using a medium to fine spray quality

Avoid spraying in windy conditions to prevent drift

Do not mulch grass cuttings from the first four mowings after treatment

Grazing & Livestock Safety

Keep livestock (including horses) off treated areas until poisonous weeds such as ragwort have fully died and become unpalatable.

Grazing exclusion period: 14 days minimum
