Rainbow Eco Spiral

Rainbow has launched a new version of their famed 100% recycled spiral guard. The new cost-effective Rainbow Eco Spiral is made from the same recycled P.V.C and is expandable up to 42mm. The spiral is slightly narrower than a standard 38mm tree spiral, but still with the same benefits of a spiral design that enables it to be wrapped around a tree or shrub to prevent browsing of the main stem and allowing the plant to expand naturally, compared to a very restrictive solid sleeve wrap design.

Rainbow Eco Spiral Tree Guards are supplied in a transparent version is available which allows for increased U.V light needed to encourage side stem growth.

Rainbow Expandable Economical Spiral Guards are manufactured with ventilation holes as standard, which we recommend using to minimise mildew damage.

On most applications a bamboo cane is recommended to help the young tree against strong winds and to keep the Rainbow Expandable Economical Spiral in place. The bamboo cane should be the same length as the Spiral Tree Guard in use, with one third of the canes total length being inserted into the ground, and remaining inside the Spiral Tree Guard, along with the young tree.

Rainbow Expandable Economical Spiral Guards are extremely easy to install, to make sure the spiral is installed correctly the Spiral Tree Guard has a unique design with the ventilation holes forming the shape of an arrow pointing upwards to show the correct way round for fitting the spiral tree guard to the tree. This unique design removes the possibility that the Spiral Tree Guard will be installed incorrectly which can cause the tree to be strangled. This is especially the case in fast growing species such as the Poplar.

These factors have combined to make Spiral Tree Guards the easiest to install, and most economical to use of all Tree Guards. The Spiral Tree Guards are coiled together in 5’s which means they require less space for storing, and transportation to site. Each box comes complete with an easy to follow installation guide.

Rainbow have made 100 % recycled spirals for 25 years and the country’s preferred form of tree protection offers the perfect solution as the spiral grows outward with the plant to enable a natural growth pattern, as well as allowing natural ventilation for the plant compared to other rigid options. 100% recycled spirals have offered a huge positive impact on the environment, diverting thousands of tons of plastics from landfill. Additionally, every kg of PVC that is recycled, prevents around two kgs of carbon from entering the environment.

Once the product is no longer needed, Rainbow will have a recycling scheme for the return of spiral guards in the environment, which will see the material processed in Hull and used in a new recycled PVC product. Please contact our team for more information.
