Specially developed for chalk and limestone-rich ground, the Pro Calcareous Soils 80/20 Grass & Wildflower Seed Mix is part of our Environmental Range, designed for use by contractors, councils, landscape architects, and land managers. This tailored wildflower seed mix is enriched with native UK species proven to thrive on calcareous soils, ensuring a reliable and florally diverse display over time.

The blend includes an 80% low-maintenance grass seed base to aid establishment and soil stabilisation, supporting the 20% mix of vibrant wildflowers. Calcareous soils often present challenges due to high alkalinity, but this mix has been carefully formulated to favour species with proven success in such conditions—ideal for long-term biodiversity gains and pollinator support.

Main species in the mix include: Selfheal, Dropwort, Common Vetch, Wild Carrot, Bird’s-foot-trefoil, and Common Poppy. The full mix may contain even more native species, all selected for their compatibility with free-draining, alkaline environments.

This seed mixture is ideal for creating wildlife-rich habitats and enhancing landscapes such as open parklands, roadside verges, public green spaces, field margins, farm edges, chalk grasslands, and rural developments.
