Role Outline

Green-tech is the UKs largest landscaping supplier, providing quality landscaping materials and wholesale garden supplies for landscaping contractors, architects, designers and landowners. Green-tech is part of the Origin Amenity group of companies, which is owned by Origin Enterprises plc.

Origin Amenity, through several businesses, is a leading provider of turf and amenity management solutions to the professional sports turf, landscaping and amenity sectors in the UK and some export markets.

Origin Enterprises plc is a focused Agri-Services group providing specialist on-farm agronomy services, digital agricultural services and the supply of crop technologies and inputs. The Group has leading market positions in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Belgium and Brazil.

This role is a key finance position overseeing the entire organisation. Working within the overall Finance team based at our head office, you’ll work within a small team providing support to the entire business. Reporting to the MD, but working within the wider Origin Amenity finance team, you will be responsible for all financial activities within the business whilst providing timely and accurate financial reporting into the wider Amenity finance team for Plc reporting.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Management Accountant will perform a wide range of duties and responsibilities. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising the finance department and other employees in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing and reporting.
  • Compilation of management accounts from start to finish
  • Preparation of the annual financial budget and ongoingforecasts for consolidation into an Origin Amenity reporting pack
  • Submission of extensive weekly / monthly reporting requirements into Origin Amenity for consolidation
  • Responsible for overseeing stock checks ensuring any adjustments required are fully investigated
  • VAT, ONS and any other externally required reporting
  • Ensure that all the company's financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation
  • Work with the company’s auditors to ensure financial monitoring and taxation issues areappropriate and up-to-date
  • Liaising with internal audit whilst striving for continuous improvement in processes whilst adherence to Plc policies and procedures is paramount
  • Work with the Sales Department and senior management to continually improving operating procedures andmanagement information reporting
  • Seek out methodsand practices to minimise financial risk
  • Create and maintain relationships with service providers including banks and accountants
  • Update and implement financial policies and procedures

Skills and Attributes

To be right for this role, you will have:

  • A CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW fully qualified accountant
  • Have experience in a similar finance role
  • Proficiency in Excel and general IT Literacy with an exposure to SAP B1 desirable but not a pre-requisite
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build working relationships at all levels
  • A good work ethic with eye for detail. You will have a pro-active, can do, solution driven approach to your work
  • A willingness to develop and enrich the experience and knowledge of the other members of the Finance team
