What is your favourite thing about working at Green-tech and how long have you worked here?
I have worked at Green-tech for about 2 years, a couple of my favourite thing about Green-tech are the people (most of the time!), I have a great team and with growing up nearby I knew quite a lot of people from either school or from the local area which was lovely. Another of my favourite things is the location of Green-tech, I could never work in a city so with Green-tech being situated practically in the middle of nowhere suits me fine.
What made you want to work in the landscaping industry?
Completely by chance I ended up working in the landscaping industry, after been made redundant from my previous job Mrs Kay messaged me via Indeed and arranged an interview for the Estimator position. It was never an industry I had considered to work in but I have really enjoyed it so far. I did Physical Geography at University so iv always enjoyed the rural environment, so I guess that slightly ties in.
Where would you say is a dream holiday destination for you?
Ooo so many to choose from, in the UK the Lake District or Padstow in Cornwall but I’d love to go travel around New Zealand or Canada one day.
Who is your role model or inspiration?
Definitely my family and friends are my role models and inspiration, I think you can learn a lot about a person from how they treat you and others.
How do you like to spend your free time?
Quite a lot of my free time is spent on my partner Georges farm, whether it be helping with the pigs or attempting to drive the tractor, I love helping out wherever I can. I have 4 Kerry Hill sheep - Kevin, Rupert Cece and Delilah which I love spending time with, I find it’s like therapy being around them! I love being outdoors and if we have a free day we try get out on the moors with our 2 Labradors, Bella and Bes.
Which do you prefer- Rural or urban landscapes?
I spend most of my day looking at drawings of tree pits within the Urban environment but I am 100% a country girl, id be quiet happy in a field with no buildings in sight.
What is your favourite project that Green-tech have been involved in?
In the short time iv been at Green-tech I have seen some great projects been supplied. Probably the biggest is Great Ancoats street in Manchester, its been great seeing progress pictures of how the trees have developed over the past year.
Who is the funniest person at Green-tech?
Fortunately or unfortunately for me I think my line manager Richard Wexham and Director Mark Wood may be 2 of the funniest people at Green-tech. I don’t think there has been a day that iv been a Green-tech that one of them hasn’t had me laughing, whether that be through their absolute bluntness, dark dark dark sense of humour, their choice of phases and words but they are both incredibly clever and great managers!
